Q – Why is availability so limited?

A – Texas Night Therapy, PLLC was founded by Xawn Alexander to be a virtual practice wherein residents of Texas could receive quality mental health counseling well into the twilight hours. That dream is still alive! However, Xawn is currently serving the state of Texas by leading a Coordinated Specialty Care team for those suffering from severe mental illnesses and must balance these responsibilities to remain effective.

Q – Why can’t I use my insurance?

A – Texas Night Therapy is a growing practice. While we are taking the necessary steps to expand and apply for coverage, each insurer typically has its own requirements and application process. This can be time-consuming and unwieldy, especially for a private practitioner. While we look forward to accepting most major insurances, we still want to provide an opportunity for you to receive services in the meantime. Keep in mind, there are some advantages to private pay:

1. Simple and Affordable – We are committed to keeping our services accessible with minimal complications and commitment when it comes to payment. After each session, we charge our fee, and we’re done!

2. Insurance Companies have obtained the right to review and audit therapists’ practice notes to determine eligibility for reimbursement. – Translation – they can view what was discussed in therapy. While your information is still protected, that’s one less degree of privacy.

Q – Can we meet in person?

A – For the time being the practice is not set up to have the appropriate safety and privacy resources necessary to ensure successful home visits. The advantage of this is that you can be served from the comfort of an environment of your choosing; anywhere in the State of Texas.

Q – Why just Texas?

A – Here in the U.S., different states have different requirements for both initial licensure and ongoing qualifications of mental health practitioners. Ultimately this necessitates a practitioner to apply for and maintain licensure separately for each state they practice in. This can easily become pricey and difficult to maintain even for those interested in serving multiple states. The founder of Texas Night Therapy, PLLC is a Texas native and currently only licensed to practice there.
